Snowflake Obsidian gets its distinctive appearance from cristobalite mineral inclusions within the black obsidian. These inclusions are small, white or grey, and often form spherulites (radially clustered crystals), creating the "snowflake" pattern. The rapid cooling of lava during volcanic eruptions prevents large crystal growth, trapping these cristobalite crystals and forming the unique snowflake pattern. This is a stone of courage & persistence to those on the verge of giving up. It forms a foundation for ones thinking & eliminates energy draining daydreaming then clears unconstructive & self-defeating judgments and replaces with stimulating ideas. It intensifies compassion and assists one’s inner journey to heal. It aligns one to past memories to help overcome & release difficulties, including conquering feelings of victimization & unfair treatment. A sense of inner calm applies & centering prepares us for deep meditation. As with Black Obsidian it allows one to become more open to a healing approach. Snowflake Obsidian is associated with the skeleton & blood vessels & may energetically limit spread of cancer cells in the body.
